I’ve long been excited about turning 30. My twenties were spent figuring out who I am and what I want to be doing; my thirties are going to be spent creating the life I want. This is the decade where I will marry my fella, finally finish a novel and maybe do a little hang-gliding if I can work up the nerve. As you can see, I’ve got an exciting 10 years ahead of me.
I celebrated my new adulthood in fitting manner: by getting super-super-drunk with a handful of friends and riding around in the world’s tackiest car, a stretch Hummer. I was going to go with a much classier stretch limo, but Kim and Katy insisted we go for the Hummer. They said it’s better for the environment, and much nicer to look at, and who am I to argue with such smart cookies?
Anyway, this was a wonderful weekend, and now I have my whole first year of being a grown-up ahead of me. Thanks, y’all, for a kickass birthday.
Photos of my nascent adulthood are here.
