So, this is not related to your post at all, except for the part about mental discipline, but here's a nice website:

from the good folks at Columbia University. They used to put these signs up around campus that just said, "WAR IS PEACE," "FREEDOM IS SLAVERY," etc, etc. In case y'all felt like sidewalk stencilling, but weren't sure what to say...
