Jesus was never lost

I found Jesus at the peace march today. He was dressed in a long white robe and beard and carried a sign that said "Who Would Jesus Bomb?"

"The moneylenders!" I said, but this did not appear to be the answer he was looking for.

I admired his Nikes.

If you, like me, were wondering about the body count in Iraq, Michele found this site. Neither of us can vouch for its veracity but it's the best I've got right now. If anyone else knows of something, please let me know.

I just heard from the Lad. He made it down to San Diego okay. Color me relieved.

good site -- thanks doll.

robert fisk is still in baghdad, though cnn and other news agencies were made to leave and now do their reporting from aboard u.s. battleships or turkey. here is his report from a hospital:

http://argument.independent.co.uk/leading_articles/story.jsp?story=389918

the numbers on tv, if they are even mentioned, don't take into account, though:
1) lung damage and -- i'm guessing -- serious injury to infants, due to the tons of smoke in the air
2) interruption of humanitarian programs, food delivery, medical care and so on
3) people that will suffer or die as refugees

even if every missile hits its target, and even if the amount of 'multiple shrapnel wounds' to innocent people is 'minimised', no one ever talks about secondary damage, which, in my opinion, is usually worse.

After Gene's 13 hour ride through Cali, his right hand remains clenched in a tight fist of spasming muscles - from operating the throttle on his bike, I think. He doesn't seem to notice it.
