White Man Tagging
Is blogging just reality TV for nerds? You know my celibacy status and the names of my friends. Who are you people, anyway? Blogging is the most banal graffiti ever and the only way to make it in any way interesting is to lie. Because here is a true fact: anyone who's actually leading an interesting life is too busy to sit down and log it.
I have long believed in the sanctity of journals, ever since I met my best friend Anais Nin. I started keeping a journal in 1999, the same year I dropped out of school, when my life started. But a journal, there's a romance to that, you can carry it in your pocket (if you have enormously large jeans) and scribble in it while your clandestine lovers are in the john, you can write in it on the subway at 4 a.m. on your way home from a secret stalking mission. This is...what, it's public, it's obvious, it's cheap gratification. Unless you lie. Then it's art.
So, as I fail to have an actual interesting life, from here on out it's lies lies lies. You've been warned.

I think you're very interesting. I think I will stalk you when you leave me here all alone.

i've been thinking about this lately too. and it worries me, i gotta say. i mean....why do we DO this? are we that bored? couldn't we find something better to do? does everyone have to read the boring inanities of my everyday life every damn day? i'm becoming disillusioned with the glamour. i want something more. maybe i want to be a better, more interesting writer though. but maybe i want to halt the addiction that these stupid sites are sucking me into. i don't really want to live with a dsl iv.

I think it's really all about the writing, rather than the topic. or in my case anyway. because my best friend anais nin wasn't living THAT great of a life, but she managed to make it sound magical and dangerous and new. so I guess I'm just growing disgusted with this chatty email blog I put up every day. but then again if I was actually writing to be artistic, would I want y'all reading it? oh hells no.

lies, lies, lies?
i don't believe you.

If you were writing to be artistic, I'd certainly want to be reading it (not that I don't want to be reading what you're currently writing). Hell, we're all friends here. Whether you write crap or you write beautifully, it's a way to put ideas on electronic paper. Not quite as glamorous as real paper, but....
I blog because a semi-journal-type-thing is nice. And because I hate writing things by hand (it makes my wrist hurt). So rather than just make a large .txt file, I put it up for you guys to look at. Why the hell not?
