Votes for Women

I have a not-so-secret weakness for voting with Gene. I think it is terribly romantic. Also, our polling place is on Beaver Street. Hot!

"Where are you guys off to?"

"Oh, we're heading down to Beaver Street. Gene's gotta check some boxes, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN."

"What about you? Aren't you going to...uh...vote?"

"Yes, but I can't seem to get the Department of Elections to take me off the absentee list, so I'll just be dropping off my ballot."

"Is this still a euphemism?"

"...Yes."

Beavers are inexplicably popular heraldic devices.

For a good ten minutes, I sincerely thought that you meant voting the same way as Gene, instead of just at the same time and place. I found it deeply worrying. Now I just find it deeply worrying that I would have thought you meant that.

Ron Paul isn't bad, but I'm not that into states' rights.

I did find myself voting with republicans on one of the propositions or prepositions or whatever they're called. But to be fair, the other side were total nutbars.

Are you saying that you don't think San Francisco should buy back Alcatraz Island and turn it into a global peace center?

On the other hand, what is a billion dollar expenditure when you can rename something using the words "global" and "peace"?

Really I was just afraid we'd start using it as a prison again if we owned it. I'll give you some global peace, cons! Everybody here calls me Vicky!

This is apparently enough of a blow to rouse me out of comment hibernation.
