Dom DeLuise said it best.
Our sweet dog Roxie got cancer recently. She got sick very quickly and was in pain and not going to get better, so on Wednesday last week we did the hard thing. She was the best dog and we miss her.

I'm sorry to hear about Roxie. She was a very sweet dog and I'm glad I got to meet her, even though she couldn't hear me.

that roxie was indeed a cute pup. brilliant at making kristen fetch things she had thrown herself. and excellent selective listening skills. i'm glad i got to meet her in her final days. she was a charmer.

Have I met Roxie? It's so hard to remember. I've only been to your house once, and I spent most of my time there wondering about that blond fellow who'd just gotten back from Gallivating Around The World Part I. I think there may have been an elderly pup nosing endearingly around me, but I can't quite remember.

I'm so sorry to hear about Roxie.
At least Honey will never have to undergo such an ordeal, being imaginary and all.

i'm so sorry, sweetie. roxie was such a great dog. i like to think of roxie selectively listening to god in doggie heaven. =/

That dog was so sweet. She could impersonate an elephant.

It{s true. She could do the best tricks--mostly making humans look like the species with the lower IQ. I{m sorry too.

Roxie performed the miracle of making me like dogs, or at least not hate and fear them, and like her in particular, despite her being a dog. I think she accomplished this mainly by being so catlike and not caring whether I liked her or not. Anyway, she was lovely and she let me set her in the swimming pool. What an odd soul. Best wishes up there and big mountain lakes.

I think she just assumed you liked her, as she assumed everyone liked her, even that little dog down the street who tried to rip her throat out and who gave us the term "neckbiter" to refer to angry little men.
thank you again everyone for saying all this, it means a lot. the house is very empty without her.

wow. i just got an image of my old dog otis and roxie whooping it up in doggie heaven, which for them really means just sitting around, but still, what a picture.

is it possible that dogs play poker in heaven? maybe all those fleamarket tapestries are not as far off as their extreme tackiness would have us believe.
